Adrift

All this is just my legacy
The world so dim mine eyes can't see
My heart adrift amid the sea
For love is just a fallacy

Carry me to water pure?
Lift my cup begin to pour?
My heart so dry this drought endures
My heart adrift it drifts off course

Rescue me from snakes and sharks?
Take me from the vultures' hark?
Kiss me waken my lost heart
And let that our lips may never part

A kiss! Awaken devil's plan
Awake a broken beaten man
Alone my heart has stricken land
Beach wrecked buried in the sand

The Butcher

Wretched pangs
Be still my heart
Slicing thither
Slicing start
And where might love
Be truest true?
I slice my heart
From one to two
A slice for me
A slice for you
Discarded quickly
Through and through
I slice my heart
A slice for you
Where love is truest true

Hope

It seems the time
For lights to dim
Your soul eclipsed
My every whim

Darkness where I
Hath once stood
And be once more
If that I could

Trouble shadows
Your darkly path
Fainting screams
Beneath your wrath

Love destroyed
Inside your hand
Like wild fire
Destroys the land

Hatred is
Something learned
Nothing born
Nothing yearned

Nothing loved
Nothing wrought
Nothing wanted
Nothing sought

Nothing proud
Nothing flaunted
Nothing loved
When hearts are haunted

Not admired
And not cherished
Not desired
When love hath perished

Forget it...

In this catalogue of pain,
Which page shall we turn to first?
Hyperventilating in my sadness.
Dying of this lonely thirst.

Choking on the audacity,
Suckling on the nipple of hatred,
The immense absurdity,
And being forever tainted.

Dying of a confused heart,
No one wanted to know me,
No one wanted to save me,
Not even my family.

So I leave my dying corpse,
On that immaculate bed,
Forget it, it's gone, it's over,
The source of your pain is dead.

Amid Sunshine

Vultures having
Found a feast
Gather 'round
The rotting beast
Pick and poke
Their prey to bone
Then leave the skele-
Ton Alone

Ants and fleas
Next get their fill
And somehow this
Is nature's will
How degrading
To degrade
Unless a flower
Thou hast made

Daisies, roses
Redwood Pine
Casting shadows
Amid sunshine
Watching lovers
Intertwine
Kissing, kissing
Amid sunshine

A Passing Thought #1

( The following poem was inspired by a poem written by A. M. Trumble )

If that I were to lament,
The waking moments I have spent,
Wishing I could be your lover,
I'd have time for nothing other.

If that I were to decree,
My never-ending love for thee,
My breath would weaken, growing old,
From all the words, to thee, I've told.

But if that I were to retreat,
And alas admit my own defeat,
Regret would be my mainstay, true,
Letting go of you.

And were that I would be so cruel,
Or worse yet, a blundering fool,
To offend myself and see you gone,
And wonder where my life went wrong.

Or if that I would be so sweet,
To once again let our arms meet?
Holding, never letting go,
This is how that you will know,

For once that I would be your friend,
And take your heart in hopes to mend,
And share a single, longing kiss,
Inside that Life, After This.
